Another Tour de France favourite. We leave the charming tree-lined streets of the spa town of Bagneres de Luchon and head straight up the mountain, maximum gradient 9% , average 6% , gaining 950 metres of altitude. The climb is long and fairly uneventful until you get to the dramatic hairpins towards the end.
